It's Been A Long Time

Ahhhh! It's been a long time since I have updated! I just kind of got off track but I plan and promise to make this my first of my come back blogging entries.

I look forward to opening back up and letting all my thoughts, projects, and giggles type across the screen. I hope you enjoy what's to come.

SLOUCH IT OUT!

Okay Okay, now I know this is going to be a bit of a stretch but I'm kind of thinking that I want slouch socks to come back, in full effect! Yes, I said it, Slouch Socks! My mum wore them like nobodies biz and so did I!  We had tons of them, drawers full! She wore mainly white, black, and grey but I had all sorts of colors.  And I loved them... as did you because I know you had them and loved them.  Remember the joys of layering them and then switch the colors in reverse on the opposite foot?!  And you could even roll them down making this sort of ring around your ankle, if you didn't want them slouched.  I did the leg-warmers for the past couple of winters but think fall/winter 09-10 I might have to bust out the slouch socks!  I've been double-dared, thus I will do it!
How about you?

Married to the Most Official.....BUNDY'S!

Yes folks Married With Children is what's going down on my television!
I can't get enough of the classic happy family! lol!
Peggy and Kelly were full of grace and style! Al was the best father and husband! Bud was such the gentleman and respectful of women! Dontcha think?....riiiiggghhhhtttt!

My official Bundy of choice... Kelly Bundy! Kelly embodied all the bad girl sass that I wished to have once I got to middle school!
Kelly had all the style that my dad would hoot'n'holler at the tv about but would kill me over if I ever did it!

After looking at my new fashion magazines and surfing some fashion sites/blogs/online stores i realized Kellz is still a style icon! Miss Bundy's acid wasked denim, over sized tanks, wide belts, chain accessories, heels, leggings, mini skirts, and sex appeal still have an ever present relevance even in 2009! And I'm still loving it NOW just as much as I did THEN!

Dope Sassy Little Jump Rope Girl

I just came across this  video two days ago and I cant stop watching it!  It was posted on
LaurentBriet.com in December '08 and made it into the Tribeca Film Festival.  The little girl is the cutest and puts "a hurtin" on a grown man in a jump rope face-off!

Rain Rain Go Away

So, it's soggy and rainy out. No sun in sight.
This is not how I wanted my Birthday weekend to be.
I guess until it clears up I'll stay in and watch dvd's. The theme today: The 80's!
I'm going to enjoy a huge blast to the past, it might take me a couple of days but I will do it. These are the 13(my lucky #) kick-ass movies:

Artsy Kicks

We got this cool book in at work yesterday.
I haven't had a chance to really sit down a look at it yet. But by just thumbing through it it seemed pretty interesting. I can already tell that I'll love it. Check out a review here online @ Core77

My New Jacket

I have been wanting a hooded bomber jacket for a bit. I had been going around trying to find a mens jacket since I needed long enough sleeves. But they were all stopping about 2-3 inches above my wrists.  I'm used to that now being that I'm 6'0", yet it's still annoying. I expressed this to my fiance and then kinda put it out of my mind.
Wednesday he called me and said there was a package for me at his house. I got it, opened it, and found my very own Levis Black Hooded Bomber Jacket!!! I was sooo very excited! Here's the details: Fab faux. Slick zip front hoodie from Levis, in animal-friendly faux leather. Rib knit cuffs and hem; slant pockets at the front; dual pockets inside; drawstring hood; fully lined.
Here are some pics I was able to find online:

Can't Get It Out of My Head

By no means is this a new song anymore but it is stuck in my head and I can't get it out! So like any good person, I usually sing it out loud to annoy anyone thats w/ me. But for you all I will leave it here as a video! HaHaHa enjoy... get it stuck in your head as well.

My Valentine's Day!

Well Valentine's Day was amazing! I got good gifts and we enjoyed an amazing dinner.
I made reservations at his favorite, Bucca Di Beppo! I did this like 3 weeks in advance and he was clueless. I kept saying we were going to all these other places but in the end led him to our real destination. He was so happy and thankful!
Here is what we had:

Apple Gorgonzola Salad

Mozz. Cheese Bread

Penne San Remo

We drank yummy Peach Bellinis

And we ended it all with Bucca's free V-Day dessert Chocolate Dipped Strawberries.

Now as for my fabulous gifts, I received:

Betsey Johnson Earrings

Hello Kitty X M.A.C. Cosmetics

And my new partner in crime: Holga Camera by Lomo

So all in all I had a great Valentine's Day! Especially since my cold decided to hold off until Sunday morning! That's a whole other story within itself! blah!

Well, Hello Hello Hello... Kitty!

As a child I was a fan of Hello Kitty.  I remember having a coin purse, wallet, and t-shirt... which I still have by the way! I always kept the memory of Kitty and her twin sister Mimi and boyfriend Daniel close to my heart.  But over the years they faded out of the toy lime-light.  Then suddenly I graduated from high school and she, with all her friends and then some came back bigger and better. Hello Kitty had grown up with me.  She wasn't a kitten but a teen-age cat!  She had make up and HAIR! Yes, Hello Kitty had HAIR... it was pink but she had it!  I would run to Club Sanrio  and buy all that I could while visiting my mum.  I loved that I could find toasters, waffle irons, alarm clocks, and Swarovski Crystal covered jewelry! Four years ago I calmed my pockets and wallet after endless spending.  However, I still kept/keep a watchful eye for Sanrio's next move w/ Hello Kitty.  Well all that waiting has finally paid off!

M.A.C. Cosmetics is my ultimate and favorite line in the cosmetics game.  They have blessed us with amazing collaborations before: Heatherette, Barbie, FaFi, and recently Dame Edna.
In February the M.A.C. X Hello Kitty collab will be released online and in stores in February.

I am very happy about this because hopefully its right before Valentine's Day!  Last year I got the complete FaFi set for V-Day!  Well at least now my fiance's pockets will be drained by the one and only 'Kitty' instead of mine. LOL!

I have also been peeking at a couple other Hello Kitty items on line.
What do you think? Should I engage or just look at them online?

I Found It...I'm Reading It

While I have never been reader of Found Magazine, I am an ultimate fan of the book(s).
For Christmas I received Found: The Best Lost, Tossed, And Forgotten Items From Around the World.

I just actually sat down and started really getting into about 2 weeks ago. It is hilarious, sad, shocking, disturbing, and sometimes freakishly familiar to my own thoughts, notes, and letters.
The book kind of reminds me of those anonymous Secrettweets and it keeps me wanting to read more.  I also like that there is a contents page that breaks the 'found' items down by state.  LOL! I read the ones from my state and pretend they once belonged to people that I know.  More times than not, they actually fit quite perfectly! Scary!
Click here to see the Found.com Item of the Day and have a good laugh.

My new favorite thing

Oh! What do we have here? I believe they're called Droplets and I believe they are my new favorite thing from Kidrobot. Alien teardrops that can be flipped upside down for two different looks?! It's like a 2 for 1! The best yet!

Dunny Dunny Dunny

My fiance has been a 'life' long collecter of the Dunny.  I have a few that I have stolen from his collection. I dont like the mystery of not knowing which one is in the box! Especially when I see 2-3 on the box that I really want, I let him buy and I swipe the ones I like.  He hates it! I love it! But I picked one up for him from Urban Outfitters...hopefully its the 'one' that I want. If not he'll just have to go out and buy me him another one.
But I digress.
So what I was supposed to be saying was that there is a new series out now: Ye Olde English Dunny Series.  They look pretty fun and some make me laugh like the British Guard and his furry lil hat w/ the ears sticking out! Classic!
You can cop your own at Kidrobot.com and read up on some other cool vinyl toys.

I LOVE BARACK OBAMA!!!

I am a crying mess of happiness! The 2009 Inauguration just ended and I am sooo overjoyed and I am just excited for the Obama Family! His speech was amazing and his daughters are too cute!
We as a nation got him this far, voted in, now as a nation let us be patient and let him take US the rest of the way! I LOVE YOU AMERICA! You, we, all did a good thing November 4th, 2008!
